BIBLE READING 1 Peter 3
8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
Are you familiar with the phrase “when it rains it pours?” Those days seem like everything that can go wrong will go wrong. If you’re not careful things that people do that don’t normally bother you will. Sometimes you can be snappy, rude, or unkind and hurt an individual. That in turn makes you feel worse. We all have days similar and hope that they will forgive us.
It can be easy to get offended when someone says something snappy or hurtful. Why would they treat me this way? Most of the time we have no idea what’s going on in that person’s life. This passage tells us to love as brethren. When we love as brethren, we can look past what people do and say. We don’t have to get even.
Let’s love one another today with the love of Christ.
