BIBLE READING 1 Peter 4

10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

I know someone who received a brand-new Kitchen- Aid mixer for their wedding. For years the mixer sat in the unopened box. They decided to give it away because they never used it. They must have had no idea the value of that gift.
As believers, God has given each of us spiritual gifts. He gave us these gifts for us to use them to help others. Just as it was a shame that mixer was never used and the family never enjoyed the benefit; the same thing happens when we don’t use the gifts God gives us. We miss the benefit of being used by God.
It wouldn’t be so bad if it only affected us as individuals, but normally the loss is in the impact to others. When we waste Gods gifts, the people we were supposed to help are not helped. It’s a horrible thought to think that someone may miss heaven because of me.
