John 1:3
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

For the next few devotions, I want to look at Gods power. Today lets look at the power to Create.

There is a difference between making and creating. Creation makes something out of nothing. Making is taking things that are available and manipulating them into something new. Scientist since the 50s have be trying to make new elements. Uranium has 92 protons in the nucleus of the atom. This is the highest of any substantive amount found naturally in nature. However, through various techniques 46 new elements have been made. Though millions of dollars and countless hours have been spent to make these, most of these new elements decay and disappear in less than a second.

When we look at the power of God, we notice the opposite effect. When God creates something, it lasts. God created the world by speaking. What immense power. Yet there are many other things he creates.

God Creates Peace in for the forgiven
Isaiah 57:19
I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him.
Peace is not possible for the unsaved. It must be created in the heart of the believer by the Holy Spirit. The peace of God gives us clarity and direction in our lives. Without it we would be directionless and full of fear.

God Creates a Clean Heart
Psalms 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
It is wonderful to remember that God can clean our heart. We so quickly get entangled in sin. When we ask God to cleanse us, he does. He forgives us, forgets our sin, and our relationship with him is restored as if we never sinned.

God Creates a New Home for all believers
Isaiah 65:17
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Lastly, God creates a place for us to be with Him forever. Our forever home is without sin, fear, pain in the presence of our Savior. We could not ask for anything more. We should be so thankful that we have a God that did not stop creating when He created the world. He continues creating in the lives of those who trust Him.
