I AM PERSUADED THAT HE IS ABLE:

TO REWARD YOUR FAITH (part 2)

Matthew 9:27-31
And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 30 And their eyes were opened……

As we have looked at these two men, we have discussed their DILEMMA and their DETERMINATION. What a step of faith these men were making. They were literally putting themselves “out there”. Let’s look a little further.

THEIR DESPERATION
The Bible says as these men followed Jesus, they were “crying” out to Him. This Greek word for “crying” is the same word used in a few other passages:

* Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
* Luke 4:41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ
* John 12:12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

This word “crying” means desperate. These men were desperate for Jesus. In a sense, they had nothing to lose, and everything to gain. When you get desperate, you don’t care what everyone thinks or says. When you are desperate, you go for broke. These men had faith that if they could just get to Jesus, He could change everything. If only we had that kind of faith in our life every day. Jesus does, and can, change everything. I know you may be busy and have much to do today but get to Jesus. Do not let the things in your schedule keep you from getting to Him first.
