I AM PERSUADED THAT HE IS ABLE:

TO DO WHAT PLEASES HIM (part 3)

Galatians 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

“To reveal his Son in me”
This word “reveal” in the Hebrew means to take the cover off, to disclose. God not only reveals Himself through Jesus “in” our lives, God reveals Jesus to others “through” our lives. Our life to to expose Jesus Christ to others. As God works in our lives, Christ is what others should see. Paul says not only did it please God to “create” me and to “call” me, it pleased God to “control” me. As God guides and dictates our lives, Christ is displayed to others.

“That I might preach Him”
What a blessed life to be able to “preach Him”. Paul says that it pleased God to call him to preach. God had kept Paul alive so that he could preach Christ to others. We know from this phrase that we are to preach, and we are to preach Christ. We are to reach out to others, but we are to reach others with Christ.

“Among the heathen”
Paul says it is not only my job to preach Christ to believers, but it is of utmost importance for me to preach Christ to the world. Sometimes our churches become clubs. We just like our little group in that’s all we are concerned about. Paul says that God has done everything in my life for one reason, and that is to get the gospel of Christ to the world. And that is our job also. It has pleased God in our life to allow us to hear the truth, and receive the truth. Now it is our job to reach others with that very same gospel. I am persuaded that He is able.
