BIBLE READING: HEBREWS 6
10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
When you and I love God enough, enough where that love motivates us to labor and work to help others, it would somehow be wrong for God not to see that and remember that. When we have labored in Jesus’ name, and worked hard to minister needs the precious saints of God, it would feel unrighteous for God to forget and overlook that. But God is not unrighteous, and God will remember your efforts in His name, and God sees even a cup of water that you give to someone in the name of Christ. Thank God for fact that He keeps the details and the records.
Just one thought, though, that enters my mind. Are you and I unrighteous to forget the work and labour of love that God has given toward us? Being one of His saints, have we kept the detailed list of every time that God has “ministered” to our needs. Are we even grateful for the fact that every second of every day, God is still ministering to our needs as his children.
You can rest assured that God will notice and remember everything that you have done for Him. That’s the God He is. But maybe you and I can realize that often we fail to keep track and remember everything God does for us. Sometimes we even ponder whether God will notice all that we’ve done, and yet while we are pondering we are overlooking a Myriad of important things that God is doing for us at that very moment. We are not the only ones working, we are not the only ones laboring, we are not the only ones ministering. For some reason we think we should get the credit for that that we have done, and yet so often we give God no credit for what He has done. May we change that today!
