Luke 10:1-4
After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
This passage is directed at those serving in the ministry. Jesus has appointed these men to go before him into the places he will be visiting. He didn’t send them out without telling them what to ask for. He tells them to pray for laborers. Why would he send them out knowing they would need help? My guess would be that they probably thought they could do it on their own. But Jesus knew…
1. It’s a great harvest- there are so many souls to try to reach 2. When you get into the midst of the battle, you’ll realize you need help.
3. He know that God is the only way to bring real help.
You may be serving in a ministry and realizing this is just to big for me.
You may think I’m all alone where I’m serving, what difference am I making. You may have tried recruiting, begging or bribing for help wherever your at.
But we have to remember that the source for all our help is Jesus. He is the only one who can change a heart. He’s the only one who can put a passion for service to Him in a persons. Lets not loneliness or discouragement keep us from reaching out to the one who wants to send help our way.
