Luke 8
Luke 8:46-48 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
Oh what fear. To be put on the spot. She had worked so hard to get to Jesus. Her healing was instant when she touched his garment. Now Jesus himself had stopped everybody and was looking for her. I imagine in her head she’s thinking, oh no what is he going to do to me, someone who has stolen a miracle from him.” She approached him trembling, not knowing what to do but fall before him and confess.
I believe in His response she heard a tone she didn’t expect to hear. A tone of compassion and love. Jesus wanted her to know it wasn’t stolen but given. It wasn’t on accident but purposeful, and not something to be ashamed of but to publish abroad. Jesus had healed her.
If you’ve been saved you’ve been healed. It’s not something stolen, accidental or to be ashamed of. It’s given, purposeful and to be spread abroad. Jesus didn’t want her to hide the gift she was give, and he doesn’t want us to hide the gift we’ve been given either. Let’s publish what he’s done for us today!
