BIBLE READING: Nehemiah 6:15-19
“So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days. And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.”
Nehemiah 6:15-16
As a child, I loved playing with LEGO! (Still kinda do! Hahaha) Every time I would work on a set, especially a project I would come up with myself, I would step back and feel a sense of accomplishment. This comes with whatever task or project you may work on. A “Look what I did!” thought may come to your mind. What is even greater is when you step back and you see what God has done. Here in this passage, the wall is finally finished! What is awesome to see is that Nehemiah recognizes what God has done, but more importantly even the enemies knew that this was of God. The task came together because God was in it. Yes there were many details, workers, etc. but most importantly it could not have happened with out the Lord. The enemies were able to walk away seeing the impossible task was finished because of God. The way it is even written even suggest, that God is the only reason why the wall finished. Let us remember two thoughts from this passage. First, let’s be thankful for God’s involvement in our lives. He is the one that truly deserves the praise. Second, let’s remember that God will be magnified in His work, it is our choice whether we want to be used of Him or not.
