Bible reading Romans 12
Romans 12:1-2 KJV
[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
We are looking at the three things Paul told us we should dedicate to the Lord in order to have the right kind of relationship with Him. Last time we looked at verse one that states we should give God our body, or commit our will to His will. The second thing Paul says to give to the Lord is our mind. The world and Satan want to control your mind. How many of you would join me and raise your hand and admit that this whole Coronavirus thing has controlled our mind at times? The world wants to control our mind but God wants to transform our mind. This word transform here is where we get our English word metamorphosis. It describes a change from within. Like we said, the enemy wants to change your mind, and he does so from the outside in, by fear, by doubt, through other ways. But the Holy Spirit wants to transform your mind by His power from the inside out. Warren Wiersbe said it this way “If the world controls your thinking, you are a conformer; if God controls your thinking , you are a transformer. How does God want to change and transform our mind? By using His word, as we spend time reading God’s Word, meditating, and memorizing it, making it a part of our life, God will gradually renew your mind.
2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV
[18] But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
