Isaiah 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD

Now we come to THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL. This is the ability to teach and give good, solid, Godly advice. This is the ability to know what to do in difficult circumstances. This is the ability given from the Holy Spirit, to seek out good counsel, and to also give out good counsel. Getting counsel from someone with eighteen college degrees is fine and dandy, but you need to get to someone that walks closely with the Holy Spirit of God to get practical, Biblical counsel. Another aspect of this is that we need the Holy Spirit given SPIRIT OF COUNSELING, because we need to make sure we counsel ourselves in a wise way. Be careful what you say to yourselves.

Then there is the SPIRIT OF MIGHT. This is a spirit of strength, force, and power.
This is a supernatural power that goes above what you can, beyond where you can, and bigger than you are.

* II Corinthians 8: 1 Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; 2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. 3 For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

Did you see that? “Beyond their power”. That is what you and I need. We face trials greater than us, so we need might that is greater than our trials. That is the SPIRIT OF MIGHT that only the Holy Spirit can equip us with. We have the Spirit of the Lord living in us. Ask Him today to give you the spirit of counseling, and the spirit of might. We need supernatural wisdom and supernatural power. Rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life for both of those today. Only He can make that happen.
