BIBLE READING: ROMANS 3
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
“THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD”
This is just a reminder to us that there is no righteousness in us. The only righteousness is the righteousness of God. There is no good thing that any of us could possibly do that would add up to being righteousness. The Bible says “there is no righteous no not one”.
“WHICH IS BY FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST”
Salvation cannot be earned. Salvation cannot be purchased. Salvation cannot be given to another or received from another. It is only by faith in Jesus Christ. This means to rest totally upon and give completely to Jesus Christ. Not religion, not family, but trusting in Jesus Christ.
“UNTO ALL AND UPON ALL”
This is the most wonderful truth about salvation. It is available to all and will be given to anyone that believes. It is not just given to certain people. It does not matter what a religion teaches, salvation is “unto all and upon all them that believe.
“FOR THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE”
Now, we are allowed to see things through the eyes of God. Do you and I see the differences in each other. We see what is different between us and other individuals. God sees us all the same. God does not look through the eyes of race, of citizenship, or of accomplishment. So how does God see us? “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” God sees us all as sinners. That’s why Jesus died for all, because there is no difference in the eyes of God. We are all sinners in need of a Savior, and Jesus is that Savior. Today, don’t focus on the differences between you and others. Remember the similarities. We’re all a bunch of sinners, but through faith in Jesus Christ, we have been saved by grace.
