I AM PERSUADED THAT HE IS ABLE:

TO ENDURE FOREVER

Psalm 9:7 But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

This is a statement of doctrine. This is one of the foundations that our beliefs are based upon. This statement is what we base our entire future upon as believers. This statement is what gives us hope that the world does not have. This statement is what makes our faith set apart from all other religions, doctrines, and cults. Jehovah, our Lord, will endure forever. Why is this so important?

  1. Because of the Past.

This means that our God now is the very same God that we read about in His Word. All the miracles He performed, we can believe. All the things that are written about Him, we know are true. All the promises He made for the future, we can trust. Because He was, is, and always will be. Because He is the same God in Genesis as He is in Revelation. If God lived in the past, but ceased, how would we know if those things that were written are true? How would you know it was not exaggerated? Well we do know it is true, because God has endured!

  1. Because of the Present.

How could I depend upon God today if He does not exist? How could I talk to God if He is not listening? How could I put my faith in God if He is not alive? Everything that dictates how I live my life is based on the fact that a God has endured. Everything that I believe depends on the fact that God is still alive and well. We cannot live by faith unless we have faith in a God that is living. If God did not endure from past all the way to today, He would not be sovereign, omniscient, omnipresent, or omnipotent. God would not be God.

  1. Because of the Future.

If God had not endured from then till now, God would not be able to endure from now till then. We would have no hope if God did not endure “forever”. If there was ever an end to God, then there would be an end to everything about God. But listen to this. Because we know that God will endure forever, that means some wonderful things for us. It means that God will outlast His enemies. Think of all His enemies from the Old Testament, the New Testament, and everything in between. They are in Hell, and God is still alive. It means that if everyone else gives up on us, God won’t. He endures. It means that even when we give up on ourselves, God will stick with us. God will endure past His critics, past His haters, and past the skeptics. God will be here when the Earth has decayed, when the Sun burns up, and even when Florida brakes off from the mainland. (LOL) God will be alive when “time” is no longer. I recommend that you trust God, obey God, and count on God.  He has endured, He is enduring, and He will endure forever.
