I AM PERSUADED THAT HE IS ABLE:
Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
“Blessed be the Lord”
We start where we should start; acknowledging the fact that everything begins with God. Every good thing we have is from the Lord. Bless His Name! We have nothing apart from The Lord. When things are good, Bless the Lord. When things are bad, Bless the Lord. When we are confused, Bless the Lord. No matter what comes or goes, “Blessed be the Lord”.
“Loadeth us with benefits”
This is a very interesting way to put this. I love God’s Word. God uses a Hebrew word here which means “loadeth” or “to load up”. God is not just good, God is great. God does not just provide, He unloads. I love what Matthew Henry says in his commentary about this verse; “So many, so weighty, are the gifts of God’s bounty to us that He may be truly said to load us with them”. God literally gives us more than we can hold. He “loadeth” us with blessings. Our “cup runneth over”. Look at this verse:
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
“Daily”
What an important detail. God loads us with benefits and blessings “daily”. God is faithful every day to do this. We don’t always read God’s Word daily. We don’t witness daily. We cannot claim that we have earnestly prayed daily. But God sire has loaded us with blessings “daily”. He has been faithful even when we have not.
How about we take time today to thank God for the “load” He has blessed us with. Let us bless the Lord, because the Lord has blessed us.
