6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

This is one of the resurrection chapters. So many amazing and powerful things in this passage. I just want us to concentrate on one small phrase for today.

All these miracles transpired exactly as Jesus said they would. Jesus was crucified and suffered like He said He would. Jesus gave His life as a sacrificial Lamb, as He said He would. Triumphantly, Jesus defeated death, hell, and the grave when He rose from the tomb, as He said He would.

The angel could have just said:
“He is not here: for he is risen. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” But as a passing but powerful reminder, the angel once again rehearsed with an emphatic exclamation point that Jesus did what He said He would do.

Dear friend, Jesus still does. Jesus said, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you”, and He won’t. Jesus said that His grace “is sufficient for thee”, and it is. God said that He would “supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus”, and He will. Just a reminder today that if God said it, He will do it just “as He said”.
